Ships Ahoy
Audio Designer | Academic Project | Fall 2016
This game was made in two weeks with a team of five. The game is a 2-4 player experience where the guests role-play pirates that have been mutinied and they must fight to get their gold, ship, and honor back. The game is played by singing Pirate Shanties into a microphone. Certain words trigger a speed boost and others power a canon to shoot at the enemies.
I was tasked with writing easy to sing pirate shanties, realistic sound effects, and emotionally engaging music.
My contributions to the project:
-
Composed three different music tracks for each interest curve in the game.
-
Wrote and play-tested pirate shanties to ensure ease of sight singing.
-
Designed a realistic soundscape with minimal sound effects.
-
Mixed audio using sounds from an existing sound library.
-
Managed audio live during the game to make sure the guests singing went without defect.
