Waves of Life
Audio Designer | Mobile Game | Winter 2017
Waves of Life, a mobile platform game which explores the journey from creation to conception. This game won the "Artistic Award" out of seven other awards at the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Global Game Jam. When the developers approached me they said they wanted a piece full of sorrow as if the main player character was longing for something but it's demise was inevitable. However, at the end of the piece the player survives and prevails unexpectedly so then the piece had to end with a sense of success and an appreciation of that success. The soothing and lonesome piano instrumentation made that creation of and change of emotion very easy to obtain. I used Cubase 7.5 to record, mix, and master this piece in the 24 hours.
My contributions to the project:
-
Mixed audio from existing sound banks to create placidity.
-
Composed piano pieces to create a sense of warm loneliness.
-
Wrote music for three levels each expressing different emotions.
-
Scored one of the levels for a small orchestra.
